Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, who else touches it, and your choices.

Last updated September 24, 2026Effective [Effective date]

The short version

  • We don't sell personal information, share it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
  • This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics, ad pixels or session recording.
  • The normalizer on this site reads your file in your browser. The file isn't uploaded to us.
  • During the pilot, the settleD app keeps your workspace in your browser's storage on your device. We don't receive it.
  • If you email us, we get what you send, and we use it only to reply and to run the pilot.

Who we are

settleD is operated by [Operating entity] ("settleD", "we", "us"). Questions about this policy go to wolf@ward.bz or [Notice address].

This policy covers settled.biz, the settleD app at app.settled.biz, and the pilot program. It doesn't cover the content of the records you manage in settleD. That's Customer Data, and our Data Policy covers it.

What we collect

SourceWhatWhy
Invite requests and emailYour name, email, profession, jurisdiction and anything else you choose to writeTo reply, to decide pilot fit, and to support you
Hosting logsIP address, browser user agent, requested page, time, referrer. [Hosting provider] collects these automatically. To deliver pages, prevent abuse and diagnose errors
Font and script providersWhen a page loads, your browser requests fonts from Google Fonts and code libraries from cdnjs (Cloudflare). Those providers see your IP address and user agent. To display the site and run the in-browser normalizer
Pilot accounts, when issuedName, email, sign-in details and the settings you chooseTo give you access and keep your account secure

We don't collect precise location, contacts, biometrics, or data from data brokers. We don't combine your information with outside profiles.

What we don't receive

Files you drop into the normalizer on settled.biz are processed in your browser and aren't sent to us. During the pilot, the entries, matters, rates and documents in the settleD app are stored in your browser's local storage. We can't see them, recover them or delete them. Export a backup regularly. If you clear your browser's site data, the workspace is deleted too.

Before this changes: account sync will send your workspace to our servers. We will update this policy and the Data Policy before that happens, and we'll tell pilot users directly. Sync will be opt-in for existing workspaces.

How we use information

  • To provide, secure and support settleD
  • To answer you and run the pilot, including asking for feedback you may decline to give
  • To meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms

We don't use your information for advertising, profiling or automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Who we share with

We share information only with the service providers listed on our Subprocessors page, and they may use it only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose it when the law requires it (for example, a valid subpoena), to protect someone's safety, or as part of a merger or acquisition. In a merger or acquisition, this policy would continue to apply to your information. We don't sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined in U.S. state privacy laws.

How long we keep it

  • Email and invite requests: for the length of the pilot plus 24 months, unless you ask us to delete them sooner
  • Hosting logs: the provider's standard retention period, which is typically days to weeks
  • Account information: while your account is open, then deleted or de-identified within 90 days unless we must keep it longer by law

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete or export the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you. Email wolf@ward.bz. We'll confirm who you are before we act on a request and respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, including the right to appeal our decision and to complain to a regulator. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.

Global Privacy Control / Do Not Track: we don't sell or share personal information and don't track you across sites, so there's nothing for these signals to switch off. We honor them anyway.

Security

We use measured, specific controls, which are described on our Security page. No system is perfectly secure, and we don't claim any certification we don't hold.

Children

settleD is for working professionals. It isn't directed to anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. Records that you manage in settleD may concern minors, for example guardian ad litem matters. That information is Customer Data under the Data Policy, and you control it.

Where data is processed

settleD is operated from the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States.

Changes

We'll post changes here and update the date at the top. If a change is material, we'll notify pilot users by email before it takes effect.
